How to charm a beekeeper's heart by Candice Sue Patterson

Blurb: Weddings are the last thing beekeeper Huck Anderson wants to be associated with, considering his past. So when he inherits a building occupied by a bridal boutique, he aims to evict the failing business and open a sporting goods store. That is until his tenant ends up being Arianne Winters, a woman he’s indebted to from a mistake made years ago. When a life-threatening injury derails Huck entirely, Arianne offers a compromise to keep her boutique and her life out of bankruptcy—she’ll aid in his lengthy recovery if he’ll allow her to remain in his building. But nursing her adversary proves challenging when her adolescent crush resurfaces. Amidst a battle-of-wills, their lives intertwine in unexpected ways, providing opportunity to overcome their pasts and start anew. Will this confirmed bachelor consider holy-matrimony, or will Huck’s choices sting them a second time? Excerpt: Huck took a sip of his soda and ran a napkin over his lips. "So how’ya been, Arianne?"

Ruby the indomitable by Robin Jansen

Blurb: Only one real memory with her mother remained: young Ruby standing in front of a bookstore, holding the hand of a woman in a red coat. After being rescued and taken in by servants, Ruby feels safe for a time. Then in 1920, during the hard winter in New York City, eleven-year-old Ruby is sent packing from the mansion where she’s been a servant since the age of six. A bleak future forces her to sneak onto a train where she discovers hope in Denton, Texas—only to have her newfound happiness shaken to the core when a poor working class section of town known as Quakertown is razed, causing black families to lose their homes. Now, Ruby must choose between the new family she has come to love and the place where people say she belongs. The book is about a fictional character set in historical times. When Ruby traveled to Denton, Texas, the history is true. My review: Ruby is one of those 3D characters whom you fall in love with immediately and root for, cry for and laugh with.

'Mums in November by Clare Revell

Blurb: Running into Amber Neville after twenty years wasn’t on Dr. Jackson Parker’s list of things to do. Amber had been head girl to his head boy, and from what he remembers, she was British, stuck up and bossy...But the red-haired beauty she’s grown into leaves him stunned. Newly returned from a job in Canada, Amber remembers Jackson as a brash and rude American--not at all the even-tempered, handsome doctor he's turned out to be. But she can’t get involved, not with the massive burden she bears--a burden that has to remain hidden at all costs. As secrets are revealed, Amber’s life is thrown into danger. As the flowers fade, so does her chance of survival. But Jackson has other plans. After all, doctors are meant to save lives, no matter the cost. extract: Amber Neville stood rooted to the spot. Of all the people she’d met since she fled Canada and arrived in Headley Cross, Jackson Parker was the last person she expected. She’d picked a town she’d never lived in, on

Forgiveness by Marianne Evans

MY REVIEW I don't normally put this first, but I didn't want anyone to miss it. This book is AMAZING. I don't often read way longer than I ought to - or annoy hubby by kindle reading in the dark. But this was one book I couldn't put down.  I was alternately rooting for Chase, and then wanting to slap some sense into him. I also woke at stupid o'clock thinking I should call him, make sure he was all right. Then remembered he was a person in a book....  Likewise Pyper.  Ms. Evans has done it again with this one. A powerful tale of love and the true meaning of forgiveness. How the words themselves aren't enough without the honestly and emotion behind it. I was gifted an ARC from the publisher. This has in no way affected the above review. BLURB Country music bad boy Chase Bradington is on the comeback trail. Fresh from rehab for alcohol addiction, and transformed by the power of Christ, Chase is battling to rediscover the music he loves and a c
